Voices for the future - A promising strategy for 21st century democracy

The Advisory Vote initiative proposes that democracy can be upgraded to coincide with the way that our country, and the world, has changed over the past 240+ years. Advisory Voting represents “a different kind of voting,” one that empowers registered voters with a new capability — to have non-binding, advisory input on issues instead of candidates; every day of the year instead of once every two years; online instead of in person — using banking level security. Founder Richard Lang discuss the promise and implications of Advisory Voting in this important interview

THE BULWARK- Election Integrity and Advisory Voting

Arguments over election integrity all come down to who is being counted, where, and when. Our goal should be to ensure that everyonewho can legally vote is able to do so and anyone who cannot legally vote isn’t. Both major parties agree on this point. That’s where the opportunity lies, and that’s where the idea for (non-binding) advisory voting comes in.

THE NATIONAL TOWN SQUARE: A VIRTUAL REVOLUTION THAT WILL CHANGE OUR DEMOCRACY

We decide who we are, as a country, every day, and announce it to the world by both our words and our actions. We continually declare our values, our priorities, and exactly what “We The People” stands for, both to ourselves and to all of our global neighbors.

But has that declaration, and those decisions, included your own voice? Have you had a meaningful role in helping shape the very definition of what the United States of America stands for? What is a country, anyway?

#134: HOW TO MAKE YOUR STORY HEARD ON CAPITOL HILL

Richard Lang, author of Virtual Country: Strategy for 21st Century Democracy, joins us to explain his plan to create a safe space for political discourse. Lang co-founded Burst which became Democrasoft, the precursor to his current platform, NationalTownSquare.us. By taking away the labels of Republican and Democrat, issues become about the individuals and their stories.

Richard explains that our government has become influenced by money, rather than values. NationalTownSquare.us will take control of the national conversation and place it back in the hands of the voters.

On today’s episode, Richard explains the conception of his idea, how to create a neutral environment for discussion, and how you can voice your opinions and ideas in your story. Learn how each of us has a voice that can change the world.
